ChatGPT is a conversational large language model powered by AI, trained to follow instructions in a given prompt and provide a detailed response.
TELUS’ business operation has a sophisticated user portal system for their sales teams, with dashboards, tools and resources. Improving those tools and streamlining processes is always a priority for the team, and integrating ChatGPT into their sales rep's emails hits both targets.

Proving The Concept. Fast.
To test this innovative idea, the TELUS team came to Acro Commerce with some very specific requirements.
- Integrate ChatGPT into their email generation tool for their sales reps.
- Ability to customize the product data the emails reference.
- Generate email responses based on the product data.
- Build a proof of concept in two weeks to provide to stakeholders.
In addition, they asked for the option to change/tweak the AI response with additional prompts.
How We Did It
First, Acro’s development team created a net-new integration for the TELUS system with OpenAI’s API.
From there:
- We created functionality to add and edit product data used in the email templates.
- Preset email prompts based on the sales rep's needs (e.g., a prospect’s or client’s life cycle stage).
- Built-in functionality that could allow sales reps to add extra prompts to the AI generator if the automated response needs adjusting.
Our team demonstrated the proof of concept to the project leaders within the two-week deadline to rave reviews. The POC is currently being shown to stakeholders company-wide to approve further budget that will extend this operational upgrade to all relevant business areas.
